Bug in Finn in Finland, July 2007

Post by Ari_FIN » 16 Feb 2007 19:57

Dear friends, greetings from (today) cold and snowy Finland!

Please find enclosed an official invitation, we have here two interesting VW Happenings next summer!

Kotka, Finland

Dear fellow Veedubbers,

The Finnish Volkswagen Association is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. We shall commemorate the special year with not only one, but two great shows.

Our traditional main event, Bug In Finn, which will also turn 25 this summer, will be held at the Himos holiday resort in Jämsä on 20-22 July 2007. It is combined with the Nordic VW Border Meeting, organised this year by us Finns, so we are expecting to see many Swedish, Norwegian and Danish enthusiasts. Last year we had more than 300 vehicles and about 650 people in the area, but this time it will be bigger and more international than ever.

The twin event takes place in a beautiful lakeside setting with a hotel, cottages, restaurants and camping facilities. The extensive programme has everything for the whole family, including show & shine for all categories of Volkswagens, live bands, fun competitions, kids' activities and – being in Finland - saunas of course! The other special event is the FVWA 25th Anniversary Motor Sport – Boxer Speed Day #1, to be arranged at the Alastaro Circuit on 11 August 2007. There will be drag racing and a 3-hour endurance race for aircooled VWs, as well as show & shine, a swap meet, entertainment including live music, bouncy castle, etc. ( www.auringonkukka.net/speedday/speedday.jpg )

We are inviting you to join us in our 25th anniversary events. More info will be available soon on our website at www.fvwa.fi. Please distribute this message freely to other clubs and forums in your country. Also, please e-mail us if you are planning to come so we can help you with the details.

We are looking forward to meeting a lot of VW friends from near and far!

The Finnish Volkswagen Association (FVWA)
